First match of the new season is now here and it couldn't be a harder start for the new boys of East 2 after winning the league on the last day of the season last year with a draw at Falkirk the opening day of the season sees the men's 4's take on Inverleith. The previous meeting of these team was an interesting encounter with halftime approaching and the score locked at 2-2 forward Fraser Munro went in for a challenge on the inverleith keeper. Which he didn't win the result was a match abandoned and an ambulance call. The 4's will be hoping the this time there are no injuries to the star forward was valuation in the men's 3's/4's and colts fantasy hockey is £12 million. (contact Duncan Bell if you are interested in participating)

Coming into the season the team look a lot different from the team who finished the last game of last season including some new signings for the adult section. Summer singing Sam Mallace will be hoping his first taste of Men's hope is one to savour. Another new addition to the Men's 4's is Sean Conkie and Conor Samll who have join from the 3's. Amounts the new guys are the regular sine of the 4's Adam Kinghorn who will be home with Fraser off umpiring most weeks can claim the top goal scorer title. David Baring and Simon Cox will be hoping for a strong start to the season. Coming up from the youth section is Calum Wood and Murray Cannon. In goals sees Euan Hamilton returning Euan has had an exciting summer getting his new keeper kit and will be hoping to show off his new talent of sliding tackles. Also returning is Mathew Oliver and Biifa (Adam Marsh) also returns who will no doubt continue his excellent role in bullying defenders. Finally after completing his masters degree the club welcomes back Bard MacDonald who will after this weekend take over as Men's 4's captain allowing Fraser to focus more on his umpiring.

The 4's have had a reasonable pre season with a 4-3 victory against a Rottenrow side containing much of the Central league player which they came from 3-1 down at half time to win 4-3. There was disappointment at Stirling with a narrow 1-0 defeat and a challenging match against Grange's East 1 Development team. However the team doesn't fall short in belief that they can stay in the division.

This match has all the ingredients for an interesting match and with the addition of the fantasy hockey will give player more encouragement to perform at the highest level. The Men's 4's would love a crowd to welcome the trophy to Tipperlinn for the first time.
