Inspired by the premature memoirs of the spritely youths of One Direction and the apparent club devastation at the lack of match reports to date, the Ladies 2s present to you: A 2s Tale: Our Story So Far…
In keeping with the autumnal air, change has been upon the Ladies 2s this year. Shifts in the league structure have introduced several new teams offering new challenges, more road trips and even the promise of matches beyond early February (winning). We have also been delighted to welcome a number of new additions, bringing the squad to capacity. Yes, the rumours are true. Once thought to be as rare as unicorn sightings, we have been revelling in the luxury of substitutes.
League
After a pretty epic 2nd in the league finish last year, Watsonians Ladies A’s (to go by our East D. Title) have had a mixed beginning to the 16/17 season. The victories have been glorious and goals a plenty. The losses have been sorely felt after tight matches, a measly one goal making the difference. The stats currently sit at 2 wins, 3 losses despite a lot of great play. Away to Perthshire at the weekend, the 2s are hoping for a win help take them back to the top of the table and turn things around.
Cup: Hillhead
The bright lights of Glasvegas came a calling and the 2s trooped through to boldly take on the National One side. This need not be dwelled upon, but we can assure you that a) we are in the plate b) a die-hard performance was delivered by the 2s c) team spirit remains strong.
Plate next, Bring on the Deen!
