On a particularly tropical Saturday afternoon, we came together for our game v Haddington Ladies 1s.
After a brisk warm up, and our first warning of the day from the umpire, we got underway at Tipperlin. It was very much a game of two halves. During the first half, Haddington took the lead with not one, but two goals. However, in the latter stages of the first half, the team worked hard and managed to pull one back, making it a half time score of 2:1 Haddington.
We began the second half strongly, scoring quickly to make it 2:2, before falling foul to a few firm decision by the umpire, leaving us with 10 players for periods of the second half. However, the ladies 2s kept their heads and carried on, with the highlight of the game being our third goal, where Lucy Hogarth danced her way through no less than 8 Haddington players, scoring an excellent individual goal, leaving us 3:2 up. The final ten minutes of the game were tense, and Haddington scored an equaliser in the dying minutes from a penalty flick.
Overall a hard fought draw.
Full time score 3-3.
Goals from Georgia Jones and Lucy Hogarth (x2).
Man of the match to Amber Murray, for some excellent saves.
