First game of the season last game as captain

The start of a new season also signalled a change in the captaincy for the men's 4's Fraser Munro went into the game knowing that this was his last game as captain of the 4's and was determined to have a good match and to enjoy his last game.
With a few regulars missing such as Ozzie Lobo, Alan Timlin & Euan Hamilton. It was also the fist game without some of the familiar faces in the 4's, with Alex MacCormac moving back to Cardiff, John Ellis moving across the Forth after his marriage and John Rumbol moving west.
The start of the match was scrappy and there was a clear sing that a lot of the players had never played together before but the defence held strong with regular keeper Euan pulling out due to illness in stepped the unsure Simon Cox he and Fraser did agree to go one half each in goals. First few minute we could see it was going to be a hard battle. Inverleith were testing the new keeper and he was holding well until a PC which went between the legs of the keeper. The second and third goal both came from field play with the second a well work routine around the defence. The further was another PC drag flick into the bottom of the net which the keeper had no chances.
During half time whilst getting the keeper changed the talk of not winning the match woke everyone up and the desire to win the half was strong. Phil Webb leading the talk and everyone agreeing on the new plan. With 2 Colts player Calum and Murray both performing well they went out to prove they have what it takes. With Murray bagging the goal half way through the half. With the regular centre backs Simon Cox and David Baring reunited Inverleith would have a hard job getting though. However both seamed determined to see how far they could push the umpire before he would give a PS but he was only giving the PC then came out a huge drag flick from Inverleith Fraser managed to get his pad to the ball but sent it back into play thanks to some great defending from Connor Small and Sean Conkie they got rid of the ball. Then next PC again went high but this time was sent over the bar but the new keeper some say he should have been in for the whole match. The Inverleith player was screaming determined for a hat-trick from the PC's.
Despite losing the match and ending with a loss Fraser's final word to the team were
"It has been a great honour to be captain of the 4's disappointing not to end with a win but I know that if the team performance like they did in the second half they should get results in the league."
MoM - went to Ali Gaul for his outstanding midfield performance
DoD - No official DoD was given but it was noted the Simon Cox was determined to give Inverleith a PS but he could be given it for stepping in goals for the first half.
