blood sweat but no tears

A cold Saturday morning and captain Tony Allan using his captains privileges to request a home pick up to save his energy for what could be a tight match in his quest for unbeaten promotion glory. With some new faces in the squad from the previous meeting at tipperlinn which was won 3-1 by the team in maroon including goalkeeper Alistair McLean, forward Fraser ‘hashtag’ Munro and returning from NFL international Tony Allan.

Warm up completed it was time for the team talk with the emphasise that this team has only lost two match, one against us they were going to provide a difficult test on what was a difficult surface. With the team all set to start the first whistle went, the boys in maroon playing some excellent containing hockey leaving the only option being a crash ball up to the forward there wasn’t many action within either circle. Then with Will Evans playing the ball to Adam Kinghorn who on the dive first time deflected it into the unmarked Munro who turned the ball over the diving keeper to make it 0-1 to the visitors.

Soon the victors were two goals to the good after some good play down the right hand wing Munro played the ball to Will who in typical school boy fashion dribbled the ball across the top of the circle and finished reverse stick into the bottom corner with 3 defenders around him.

Again after some good after some good play down the right hand side the guys created a carbon copy of the first goal with Munro being on the end to finish in the exact same style (just what everyone what’s from umpires - consistency).
Half time talk was that we were 0-3 up however it was far from comfortable.

With a few minutes of the restart keeper Ali passed the ball straight to the centre forward however was quick out to narrow the shooting angle down resulting in the defenders getting back. However due to memory loss (explanation is later on) the author cannot remember who kicked the ball away but the result was a PS to Falkirk. With cries of this is our warning coming from all member of the squad, Ali stepped into his goal to defend the PS however the striker push his shot wide and the score remain 0-3.

Michael Chan must have been possessed as he was finding himself going on mazy runs beating 2/3 players however unlike his fellow school boys did think to pass more than dribble resulting in the left hand side attack being on top form. With some excellent play he was sure to be the top contender for MoM.

As the match was coming to a close a few short corners to defend but nothing too concerning with both being slipped left and both finished the right side of the post as far as the boys in maroon where concerned. At the restart after the second PC the ball was played out to Captain Allan who was tackled in his word by 'Someone preparing to play at Murryfield later that day' resulting in a yellow card being shown. With the final few second of the game Munro typically went in for a tackle and ended up with him thinking it was football he was played and headed the ball resulting in a bleeding head (that’s where the memory loss has happed or at least that’s my story).

Final whistle (author not present as was on search for something to wipe the blood away good thing “blood doesn’t show on a maroon jersey”) a good 3 goals and a good 3 point to continue the unbeaten season and also an improvement on the score line for the home game keeping the clean sheet.

MoM was awarded to Michael Chan for his amazing tackling and creation of attacking play form the back.
DoD was awarded to Fraser ‘hashtag’ Munro for his hat-trick avoidance and for drawing his own blood.
