Cup game

First up the fours were outstanding against Inverleith 2's who apparently had 1's playing for them, the cheek! Thinking we were going to get gubbed massively we went into the game to have some fun and just really get used to playing together. Actually they weren't that stunning and we held them well with some great play lead by Jodie in CM and Alida controlling the back. They scored a crappy goal in the first half not helped by me being blinded by the sun (sorry!) but they wasted 2 sort corners and a few other chances but nothing the mighty ladies fours couldn't handle!

2nd half we came out strong, put pressure on and scored woopwoop! It apparently trickled over the line in slow motion (I just saw sticks people and mad scrambling...) That really rattled them and we were then all over them. Some really great passing and intelligent play, we were unlucky not to score a few more. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately?) they squeezed one in on the back post to end the game 2-1 winners.

We went in thinking we would get thumped, played brilliantly and could have gone through, ultimately it's frustrating we lost but no bad thing as we didn't lose 9-0 and came out with our heads held high against a team 3 leagues above us! Now go into the plate which, if we continue to play like that, there is no reason we can't have a great run at it! Massively proud of everyone today, you were awesome!
