- 5 out of 5 on the road

Fresh off an unbeaten run in the league so far the Ladies 4's faced a tough test against the Civil Service Ladies (CS) who were demoted from League 2 last season. Reluctant to give CS too much respect captain Jodie started with an attacking 4-4-2 to show that the girls in white were here for the win.

The first 15 minutes saw Watsonians pushing into the CS's D persistently with some beautiful passing and several opportunities to score. The first goal came from a well worked attack up the right with Cydney and Jenny commanding the play and enabling Olivia to wriggle free of her defender to find the backboard. In quick succession the girls were back on the attack with the CS keeper saving a beautiful hit from Cydney, luckily Rebecca was ever ready for the rebound and fired in a sublime shot to take the score to 2-0.

The second half saw Watsonian's improve on an already inspiring performance. Some excellent passing from everyone made for a great display of why we have 4 wins under our skorts so far this season. The third and fourth goals came from beautiful finishes by Olivia who just can't stop scoring this season. Particular mention to Jenny's impressive run up the right and along the baseline to serve the ball to Olivia on a plate who naturally found the backboard.

Eager to keep a clean sheet the Watsonians defence were vigilant in shutting down any CS attacks. A few short corners were awarded against us however these were well shut down. A captain should never blow one's own trumpet but in this case I will - an instinctive stop on the line sent the crowd on the sidelines into a frenzy. I had no idea it was any good as I couldn't see a thing whilst wearing a face mask, think horse with blinkers on.

Another convincing win for the Ladies 4's sees team spirit rocketing. Well done to all and well done for keeping cool heads when dealing with some difficult characters on the opposition. A truly excellent match and result, let's keep it up.
