Thursday Night Lights for Ladies 4s

With Captain Jodie promising us sun and 8 degrees for our Thursday evening catch up game against Boroughmuir 2's, we of course were greeted to darkness and a baltic haar creeping across the pitch. Unperturbed Watsonians Ladies 4s attacked early and after a good couple of sustained attacks on goal Holly dribbled into the D and slotted the ball into the top corner to give us the lead.

With Alida and Lynsey controlling the defence 'sonians kept possession well but couldn't convert. Boroughmuir tried to drive down the centre but Alida's superglue stick stopped pretty much anything coming through into the D. Anna B hooked up beautifully with everything Alida sent her way, pushing forward and tracking back whilst covering the nippy forwards to earn her MOM.

Second half and Anna O finally made it onto the pitch and injected some fresh legs. Our normally slick shorts were not quite on point but we continued to drive the ball from midfield into the D, Jenny, Ang, Becca, Carly and Julia keeping it fluid. Holly managed to shake off her defender and crossed the ball to the back post where Jude cheekily nutmeged the keeper. This obviously means Coach David owes her a dinner!

It was nice to have Tammy back from her travels, however her stunning faceplant while trying to hit the ball followed by attempted scramble and eventually just giving up and hitting the ball on the ground definitely merits DoD! She blames the jet lag...

Overall a solid performance by everyone especially for our first midweek floodlit game. Still unbeaten, still top of the league, the march to the title continues...
