Match report by Katie Dunlop.

The Mighty Watsonians Ladies Fours returned to Fortress Tipperlinn after a two week break hungry for a win against Dunbar. Liv, having passed her driving test that week (woopwoop!) had come on her own having been ditched by both Al and Fran and forced to drop her wee sis off on the way but we should't have worried as Fran appeared to take on the mantle of Superfan in Al's absence, pheeewwwww!! Today was the day Liv was going to get on the score sheet, it was time for her to have her moment! (Holly making sure she was aware of this at any given opportunity...)

The weather held out and the base layers were ditched for the first time this season as we trouped onto the field to take the passback; It took a few minutes for the match rusty Fours to get into their game but it wasn't long until the ball was in the D and we were rewarded with a short. Elizabeth duly hammered it home to kick off the scoring.

'sonians found their rhythm and started linking together some silky smooth passes with Suze at one point managed to link 3 nutmegs in a row #skillz.; Dunbar looked dangerous on the break but Tammy, fresh from some sun (but mainly rain) in South Africa had it covered, except that one time where she called for the drop, missed it and then had to chase it halfway down the pitch. Also #skillz...

The ball remained deep in the Dunbar half as the Fours attacked, hungry for another goal; It wasn't long before Julia was rewarded with the second after a trademark pouncing on a rebound of the Keeper. Holly decided enough was enough and went on her own goal hunt, the first on a solo run with a cheeky nutmeg of the Keeper and the second latching onto a great run and pass by Becca. The first half ended 4-0 as the fog started to descend.

Now seemed a good opportunity to try all the things Coach Pippa tells us to do at training and the assault on Dunbar goal was relentless but Dunbar, having parked the bus in the D, did a good job to stop the ball crossing the line.; Multiple short corners allowed the Fours to work through all their options but alas it wasn't to be despite our best attempts.

The defense were now so high Tammy was threatening to get a nose bleed, the plan to 'pivot' back to provide cover being largely ignored. Finally Liv found some space, wriggled round a defender, went to her left, went to her right and fired, GOOOOAAAAAALLLLLL!!! It was indeed finally her moment!

The game finished with a 5-0 win for the Watsonisans Ladies Fours, who with a couple games in hand are sitting clear in 3rd place in East Division 2. MoM: Holly

Massive thanks to Watsonians legend Alida (we miss you! ) and Bethan for umpiring!
