Expectations were high in the maroon camp of a goal fest, proved realistic due to a steely determination by the entire team to send a message to all rivals. A high press from the off worked a treat as the highland back line struggled to get out their own 16. Strong early tackling led a lot of maroon possession, which was effectively converted into goals. This high press intensity was there all throughout the first half leading to a 7-0 advantage at the break. They never had a sniff.

Tired legs crept in for the second half and the press dropped if a bit. Everyone managed to dig deep and get back to quick passing hockey. This helped tire highland and more goals quickly followed. Only blemish on the performance was conceding from a weak short corner, but the game was long done and dusted by then.
