Another tough Saturday for the Ladies 1’s

After a few tough weeks, the ladies 1’s faced Edinburgh University who are currently undefeated in the league for 2 seasons now. With ex uni players Ruth Moffat and Bethan Mann in the team this year, they were excited and ready to face their old team mates. The girls started well and pressed hard against a slick passing Uni side. Watsonians were cutting out passes, marking hard and with a new strategy, it took the away team them a while to score their first goal. Although the score at half time was 4-0, the girls were still positive and we kept fighting in the second half. We passed the ball well and gave Uni a few frights, winning several corners and at the end of the match a pass into the D from myself and some slick work from Heather Elder found Katherine Holdgate who smashed the ball into the left hand corner. The game ended 8-1 but there was definitely a more positive attitude within the camp and we look forward to the bottom of the league clash again GHK in Glasgow this Saturday.
