Disappointment in Glasgow for Ladies 1's

The ladies 1's went into the weekend knowing that the opportunity to gain 6 points were there for the taking. The first game of the weekend was against Kelburne at Glasgow Green. After a win the weekend before and a very even game at the beginning of the season against Kelburne, we went into the match with a lot of confidence. The first 10 minutes saw Kelburne make zero passes in our half and we kept forcing errors but after a call against us and a slow reaction from Watsonians, we gave away a penalty corner and Kelburne's straight strike hit the back board after 15 minutes. We didn't let our heads go down and kept attacking, eventually gaining a short corner and a deflection onto a Kelburne foot on the line should have seen us gain a penalty flick but the game continued. Unfortunately Kelburne have some experienced strikers and are quick on the attack leading into the D which saw another goal after 20 minutes. Going into the second half, we dominated and had a few opportunities but could not find the net. Towards the end of the second half, Watsonians had a goal disallowed and scored with about 5 minutes to go by Heather Elder but were unable to find a second goal leaving the girls disappointed not to pick up any points. However, we were to go into the game on Sunday with our heads held high after a strong performance and some unlucky decisions.
