Watsonians ladies got off to a great start to the 2017 season against Kelburne. We dominated most of the game where several chances were created in the opening 15 minutes, forcing the keeper into making some excellent saves. Finally, the dead lock was broken by a Heather Elder deflection following a flat accurate cross by Ruth Moffett. Watsonians continued to knock on the door in the second half winning a couple of corners which we were unable to convert. Continued pressure and a couple of fresh air shots later Nikki Stobie found herself some space in the D and sent an absolute rocket into the far corner, bringing home the second goal for Watsonians. Stobie didn’t stop there; the celebration was something Ronaldo would have been proud of. Overall, Watsonians took the points comfortably, but it looked like they have a lot more to offer. The season looks like it’s going to be an exciting one for the ever progressing squad.
