Help support the club's fund-raising efforts by volunteering at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival on Saturday 26th May.

Watsonians have been asked to provide a number of helpers in the finishing tent - and in return, the event organisers will donate money to the club.

This is a great opportunity to support a brilliant event, while helping the club out at the same time. If you are interested, please email gusfh@hotmail.co.uk and either Gus, Cat or Steph from the newly-elected social team will get back to you.

Ladies' 1s Ladies' 1s

Congratulations to the Men’s 1st XI who defeated local rivals CALA Edinburgh 4-1 at Peffermill on Sunday 6th May 2012 in the Play-off, sealing a return to the top division. Calum Wood's charges dominated the game and scored four exceptional goals to gain the reward for all their work since last July. The opening goal was scored by Craig Beattie and further strikes from Skipper Magnus Ferrier and Coach Wood put 'Sonians three up after 15 minutes. CALA got a goal back in the second half before veteran poacher Malcolm Reid sealed the promotion.

The Ladies' 1s were very unlucky in their Play-off, losing out 2-0 to Western Wildcats. They played very well and can be very proud of their season's achievements.

Thanks to all the supporters who came along to cheer both teams on.

LADIES' 2 LOSS TO MILNE CRAIG CLYDESDALE WESTERN II

Sonians’ ladies 2s travelled through to Glasgow on Saturday 21 of April to play Milne Craig Clydesdale Western II in their last game of the season. This game was always going to be challenge as the Western ladies’ are the runaway winners of the reserve league.

Despite several fantastic opportunities it took Western more than 10 minutes to get their first goal. Half-time score 3-0 to Western.

Western pressed hard in the second half and were rewarded with 5 more goals, most of which came from short corners which they took with the precision of a 1st class team.

Watsonians did have a few opportunities in the Western circle but these were easily dealt with by the Western defence who have only conceded 3 goals over the full season.

The whole team played well, but special mention must go to Nikki in goals who had a busy afternoon.

Final score Western 8 - Watsonians 0

MEN'S PRE-SEASON TOURS IN PLACE

These trips will include a mixture of training and games and any new players wanting to join 'Sonians 1st XI squad for next season should pencil these dates into the diary. Fundraising events for the trip will take place over the summer, watch this space for details.
